Anything involving a "G" ... I'm up to two dozen
The natural world, history, good reads, good sports and African affairs!
I have two. One is the first time I went cycling in Italy. I was in Chianti and I planned a lovely 85 km ride. Then I got lost and it turned into a 150km, uphill-both-ways in the snow story. But it was spectacular and definitely off the beaten path (so many villas). I became friends with an old Italian man who gave me some of his table red wine in a tin cup which complimented my dizziness and dehydration splendidly. The second is a favorite ride in Seattle. As an insomniac, I look for ways to burn energy at night so I would go for long city bike rides at 3AM. With the light drizzle, no one around, and orange lights making everything glow, it was always surreal. Rather poetic and invigorating in a melancholy sort of way.
